Is Wealthy Affiliate A Scam, Or A Legit Way To Make Money

I wasted $19 and 40+ hours on Wealthy Affiliate so you don’t have to...

I’m going to provide a full written account of my impressions of Wealthy Affiliate in this post. I also put together a 14-minute YouTube video about it which I’ll link to at the end. Hopefully this will save some people significant time and money, because right now WA is making crazy profit peddling very ineffective training, and I'm not okay with that.
Last December I decided to go "all in" on SEO and affiliate marketing. I’ve been earning a full-time living online since 2010 but mostly as a freelance web designer.
Things have been going well lately:
A few weeks back I decided to take things to the next level and started signing up for a bunch of affiliate marketing courses.
The biggest and most popular is one called Wealthy Affiliate.
It’s been around since 2005 and has more than 1.5 million members.
By my calculations, about 5000 new people sign up for a free account there every week, and about 600 of those upgrade to a “premium” account.
(Yes, that means the course generates a TON of revenue. More on this later.)
I signed up for a premium account myself and spent more than 40 hours going through all the training materials.
Now I don’t consider myself an expert affiliate marketer by any means, but I believe I know enough already to recognize bad training when I see it.
And Wealthy Affiliate is really bad training.
To the point where it probably reduces your chances of affiliate marketing success.
I believe there are 7 main reasons for this:
1. OUTDATED TRAINING
I went through all 120 lessons in the core WA training.
Most of the videos I’ve seen in there date from 2015-2016. Some date from as early as 2012.
Much of the text accompanying those videos clearly hasn’t been updated for years either (despite what the “last updated” dates say).
This wouldn’t be an issue... except we’re talking about affiliate marketing here!
This industry evolves FAST! What worked in 2016 isn’t nearly as effective today.
To give but one example, there are 10 consecutive lessons in the core training devoted to Bing and Yahoo PPC.
Those lessons come BEFORE any training on Google PPC, with the justification that “Yahoo and Bing still get around 33% of search traffic online.”
No, they don’t.
As per statcounter.com, Google has held a ~90% market share since as far back as 2009.
No affiliate marketer in their right mind would focus on Bing and Yahoo ahead of Google nowadays.
(Furthermore, the core training in WA seems to get more outdated the deeper you go. Only the free training appears any way recent. A skeptic might say that’s to convince free members to upgrade to a paid account. And once they do, screw em!)
2. OUTDATED CREDIBILITY
Your guide for all the core training is Kyle Loudon, one of the owners of WA.
Kyle reveals 3 of his affiliate sites throughout the training.
I checked them all on Ahrefs last month. The numbers do not look good in 2019.
Here’s the “best” one: [image]
As you can see, that site has been in free fall since 2017. Kyle was adding content up until March 2018, long after the free fall had begun. Now the site receives only 54 visitors from Google each month.
The other main trainer in WA is a guy named Jay Neill. He does the weekly live training webinars for premium members.
The main site he points to as evidence of his affiliate marketing prowess looks like this in Ahrefs: [image]
Not huge numbers, by any means.
And yet, incredibly, Jay claims to be earning $300 PER DAY from that site: [image] + [image]
For proof of his earnings, he offers a single Amazon earnings screenshot from a 3-day stretch way back in February 2016: [image]
I messaged Jay within Wealthy Affiliate and asked him for more recent earnings proof. Here’s a screenshot of our entire conversation: [image]
As you can see, he wasn’t very happy with my inquiries 😕
My last message to him was August 22nd... and no response since.
Given all that, it seems clear to me that both Kyle and Jay have had some success with affiliate marketing in the past, but there’s no evidence that either of them have earned much money that way since 2016.
(Well, Jay surely earns a small fortune as an affiliate for WA, but I don’t think that should count.)
And yet these are the two main people teaching you how to be a successful affiliate marketer in the most popular affiliate marketing course in the world!
Which wouldn’t be such a big deal... if students of WA were actually getting good results from the program.
But if they are, I’m not seeing it.
There’s a blog post on the WA website, written by a well-known affiliate of WA, that purports to list proof and examples of successful WA students in 2019: [image]
I went through the 50+ examples listed and found only 9 reporting what I would consider to be great results.
Perhaps it’s just me, but if the Wealthy Affiliate training is truly still effective these days, I would expect to see a lot more than 9 students having great results over the past several months.
Especially when 600+ people join the premium WA training every single week.
3. MISLEADING CLAIMS
I’ll limit myself to just three examples here.
“It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.”
What you get in 30 seconds is actually a bare-bones WordPress installation, which most web hosts offer with a single click nowadays.
“Wealthy Affiliate members have always noticed notable "boosts" in rankings and traffic with every Google update.”
Within WA, it’s not hard to find members reporting otherwise: [image] + [image] + [image]
“With what we have already given you, you could easily scale a campaign to make over $1 MILLION per year...in fact, if you put your effort into just one of these target audiences, you could likely make that with just one.”
That’s from a training lesson about how to pick an audience to market Wealthy Affiliate to, so you can earn affiliate commissions. (60% of the core training is devoted to teaching members how to refer other people to WA.)
And yes, they really did say “easily” 🙄
4. BAD ADVICE
Limiting myself to three examples here, too.
“There is NO SUCH THING as choosing the wrong niche.”
This point is hammered home many times throughout the training.
And yet, many WA members seem to end up choosing the wrong niche: [image]
Funny that.
List the price in your Amazon reviews
A Wealthy Affiliate member noted this bad advice back in May: [image]
When I checked a couple of weeks ago – more than 4 months AFTER that member’s blog post – the training still hadn’t been updated.
Which means new premium members are still being taught to list prices in their Amazon reviews, and risk getting banned by Amazon as a result.
Manually backup your WordPress site every week
Yup, they really advise this in the core WA training: [image]
Despite the fact that there are free WordPress plugins you can use to automate your website backups, and there have been for years.
5. MISSING CRUCIAL INFO
Going through all 120 core training lessons in WA, I noticed that there was no – or in some cases, grossly insufficient – training on the following topics:
To be clear: most of these topics are addressed – with varying levels of proficiency – within Wealthy Affiliate.
The issue is that they are not addressed within the core WA training material!
So while many of them are crucial to affiliate marketing success, you might never know about them as a member of WA.
6. POORLY ORGANIZED
Within the core WA training, lessons often appear scattered, disjointed, and repetitive.
I get the distinct impression that the entire course was not planned out in advance, but rather pieced together haphazardly over the years.
For example:
7. BROKEN RANKING SYSTEM
I’ve been amazed at how much time and effort some WA members seem to devote to writing comments and blog posts that add very little value to the community.
For example, I received 18 welcome messages from other members when I upgraded to Premium, the majority of which seemed very generic, as if copied and pasted from a template.
And I’ve seen countless more comments throughout WA that felt like a complete waste of time.
Someone might post a question, for example, and get a response like this:
“I don’t know the answer but hopefully someone else does! Good luck!”
This baffled me for a while, but then I learned about the Wealthy Affiliate ranking system.
If you’re not familiar, all WA members are ranked according to their contributions to the WA community, and the top 25 are referred to as “Ambassadors.”
There’s even a leaderboard: [image]
This explains why you see so many people posting so many generic messages and comments within WA: everyone’s trying to improve their ranking!
But here’s the thing:
It’s entirely possible to achieve a high ranking in Wealthy Affiliate... and still suck at affiliate marketing!
I’ve gone through the leaderboard and found several examples of folks ranking in the top 50 while simultaneously reporting that they’re struggling to earn money from affiliate sites they’ve been working on for years!
This is nothing short of madness.
Presumably the WA ranking system was intended to get more members contributing thoughtful content and helpful comments.
But mostly it just serves as a distraction.
Many folks seem to be so caught up in improving their WA ranking that they’re devoting little time to building successful affiliate sites.
...
To summarize, the 7 big problems I see with Wealthy Affiliate are:
  1. Outdated Training
  2. Outdated Credibility
  3. Misleading Claims
  4. Bad Advice
  5. Missing Crucial Info
  6. Poorly Organized
  7. Broken Ranking System
All of these issues are especially inexcusable for 2 reasons.
FIRST
I think it’s safe to say that Wealthy Affiliate is the most popular affiliate marketing course in the world.
More than 1.5 million members to date. And by my calculations – based on numbers I’ve seen inside WA – another 750 or so sign up for a free account every single day.
That’s a lot of people who rely on the WA training to build a successful online business.
And I’m sorry, but I believe that training is failing those people miserably.
SECOND
About 90 of those 750 daily new members eventually upgrade to Premium.
By my calculations – again, all based on numbers I’ve seen inside WA – each paying member is worth about $300.
Multiply 90 x 300 x 365 and you get $9,855,000.
That’s approximately how much revenue WA is now generating per year.
(Probably an underestimation, actually.)
Granted, WA surely has some big expenses – their hosting costs must be astronomical, for one thing.
But unless my calculations are way off, there should still be plenty of money available to hire a small team of professionals to resolve all the issues outlined above.
But for whatever reason, that’s not happening.

To wrap this up:
By many accounts, WA was once a great place to learn affiliate marketing.
Unfortunately, in 2019, that’s no longer the case.
Nowadays the only people getting wealthy from Wealthy Affiliate are:
a) the owners
and
b) affiliates like Jay Neill who write ridiculously biased and misleading reviews of WA so people will click on their referral links.
If your goal is to learn SEO and/or affiliate marketing, please do steer clear Wealthy Affiliate.
At best, their training is unhelpful.
At worst, it will actually reduce your chances of success.

==> See How to Buy This Wealthy Affiliate Black Friday Offer For $299 (+ Bonuses!)

Why Wealthy Affiliate's Black Friday Offer is Unmatched...

OK, so I've briefly highlighted the resources offered by the WA platform and community.
But let's see this stuff broken down and also why no other affiliate marketing platform comes close to what WA delivers for such a small price tag on Black Friday.

#1: Essential Tools & Services

Using WA's SiteRubix website builder - you can easily and quickly build numerous WordPress blogs that come with super fast + secure web hosting.
There's also the option of buying domains from WA and easily hooking them up to your websites.
Furthermore, there's an in-house 24/7 website tech support team on standby who will quickly come to your rescue.
And if all that's not enough, you can even create your own domain specific email addresses, and easily manage all aspects of your blogs via the 'Website Manager' interface (shown below).

Website Manager

As for others tools/services, there's the Jaaxy keyword tool that allows you to uncover keywords for ranking and driving traffic to your content.
There's a content platform allowing you set goals, incorporate free images into your blog posts, and even spell check your content before publishing.
Last but not least, there's a newly-released feature that enables you to easily and quickly locate affiliate programs to apply for instead of searching the web for hours.

New Affiliate Programs Feature

#2: Comprehensive Step-By-Step Training

First of all, in order to set up your online Biz so you're ready to hit the ground running, you'll start out with the 'Online Entrepreneur Certification' (level 1).
This is a 10-lesson step-by-step video training course that any newbie can easily follow, in my book.

10 Free Getting Started Lessons
And then it's off to the races with 40 more task-based step-by-step lessons broken down into the following 4 levels:
  • Level 2 - Building Your Onw Traffic Producing Website
  • L3 - Making Money!
  • L4 - Mastering Social Engagement
  • L5 - Achieving Maximum Success Through Content Creation
Put simply, you're armed with all the essential knowledge for building a profitable blog from the ground up.
In addition, you'll get to catch up on tons of recorded webinars and also watch a live webinar every Friday.
Plus, even WA members create their own training for offering you those extra golden nuggets that complement your WA training nicely. ;)
==> Get More Info on Wealthy Affiliate's $299 Black Friday Sale (+ Bonuses!)

#3: Help & Support Day & Night!

Did you know that help and support plays a crucial role in your success?
You can have all the training in the world. But what happens when you get stuck with something and there's nobody around to reach out to?
Then you're screwed, right?
So the awesome news is that WA offers you multiple channels for support around the clock.

Wealthy Affiliate Classrooms

Here are your options:
  • Pick the brains of over 1 million WA community members via classrooms & live chat
  • The opportunity to Private Message members (including ME!)
  • You can even Private Message both Kyle & Carson (WA co-founders for extra assistance)
  • And as I've discussed, there's also a website tech support team operating 24/7
In my experience, the support inside the WA community is second to none because there are always people who will respond to your questions quickly.

Final Thoughts: Is Wealthy Affiliate's Black Friday Sale Worth it?...

You bet your ass it is!
Wealthy Affiliate isn't some shoddy ClickBank, ClickBetter, WarriorPlus or JVZoo product offering little value - leaving you clueless about online success.
Because WA is an "all-in-one" platform offering the tools, training, and support you need for creating an affiliate Biz from scratch and turning it into a passive income.
Absolutely EVERYTHING WA promises on the tin, it delivers.
So without a shadow of a doubt, Wealthy Affiliate's $299/yearly Black Friday deal is totally worth it!
BUT only if you're willing to TAKE ACTION and work your butt off for a good 12 to 18 months because that's the only way to earn a full-time income from blogging.
So if you're after a "shiny object" promising to make you rich without lifting a finger, then WA really isn't for you.
Because the concept of "get-rich-quick" is nothing but a myth invented by scam artists only interested in their own needs.
But if you're prepared to get your hands dirty for the next year or so for a passive income from affiliate marketing...

Did some intense research into the wealthy affiliate program if you guys are interested in affiliate marketing. Overall, I don't thin you even have to pay to get the value, but everything is put in one place on their site so it's a little bit more convenient than piecing everything together online.

Should I continue WealthyAffiliate Program or transfer my website out of it and grow my website from there?

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are doing well :)
I’m an absolute beginner when it comes to affiliate marketing. I heard about it years ago and last year I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate.
I got super excited reading their website and reviews so I gave it a go. I started the free account and created an anime related website. I decided to become a premium member and slowly continued on my journey.
Suddenly, some personal and financial life went upside down last year and there was a huge gap of not writing articles. I think I only wrote 15 articles in total and on the WA lesson where they talk about money making.
I still pay the premium membership and I want to go back to WA, but realized at least on their site, I’m getting skeptical about their reviews. I couldn’t find any people who are having success on their niche websites! Majority of them took the other route of reviewing other affiliate programs and of course promoting WA.
I know I didn’t work hard for the whole year. My life is all together and I want to get serious about making passive income.
I saw one really good WA review on this reddit that made me think about this hard decision.
WA Review
I’m debating if I should still continue the program and finish at least their Online Entrepreneur Course and take a couple of their weekly supplemental classroom courses or just quit WA all together and transfer my url to Bluehost or other hosting websites?
Also, what are some amazing updated affiliate programs I should get into? Any YouTube channels? I love learning new things! ❤️

Wealthy Affiliate Business

Wealthy Affiliate Business Review

How to start online business?

You can choose from a lot of options to start your own business today or we can speak broadly like choose your niche, set up niche website and so on. But none of that writing will give you benefits. Lately it looks that many people do this, but in my opinion it is a big waste of time, especially from the readers point of view, because a reader is left unknown what to do next. The first step to start something would be to invest something in online business. Yes, you read it right that there is nothing ultimately for free.
So I suggest to start your business on Wealthy Affiliate platform. You will learn a lot and your first investment will not be huge – about 50 USD a month. With that you can start creating something. Of course, do not expect that paying 50 Usd a month is a guarantee of success overnight or over a month or two. You will need to put a lot of hard work. The more you invest on your projects the better. But do not forget to invest wisely – when you need and where you only need.
Keep in mind that this platform is not money making machine. This is a platform which gives you tools and training and community (people) to achieve something. Everything depends totally form you and how much time, effort and work you put in.

Wealthy affiliate

My rating: 8/10

Wealthy affiliate is a platform and business network where you can start your first steps in online business. Valuable tutorial videos provided as well where you can start off. Many other advantages which I could not find on other platforms.
You can start with wealthy affiliate free, but if you really want to start your journey to make real money online I suggest you to choose a plan for 49 USD a month.
You will also need to buy your own domain for about 15 USD a year. You can buy your own domains on other websites and transfer them to Wealthy Affiliate.
I do not like the idea that for 49 Usd a month Wealthy Affiliate cannot offer one single free independent domain at least for one year and you have to pay for it for about 15 Usd. However, it is only minor inconvenience, because 15 Usd or less a year is not a lot per 1 domain. And most of the companies on the internet probably will not give you out a real domain for your own use only for free.
Remember, with Wealthy Affiliate hard work and efforts are required, so do not expect to earn in minutes or hours. It will take a bit longer to get your first income online, but eventually you will get it. Just make sure you follow all the training and steps provided, advice and tips. Try to test several websites with different niches. If you see that your progress is low or you are not achieving what you have expected, do not worry. Try to find alternatives. Test and try other opportunities and ideas, write more valuable content, try different affiliate marketing programs and platforms, advertising platforms. By the way, google is not the only one and last advertising program. Find alternatives and replacements if you need one.
If you want to really save on joining Wealthy Affiliate and you have spare money to invest, I suggest buying yearly membership for about 299 USD. So instead spending 50 USD a month which would be 600 a year you will save 50% straightaway and only spend about 300 USD on a yearly membership.

Companies connected to Trump received large taxpayer-funded forgivable loans: A list

Yesterday, the Small Business Administration and Treasury Department disclosed the recipients of 660,000 Paycheck Protection Program loans. The list only includes those who received at least $150,000 in funding, which is less than 15 percent of the total number of loans. The administration originally tried to hide this information.
Recipients do not have to repay the loan if they keep (or re-hire to meet) their pre-COVID-19 levels of employment and compensation and spend the funds on approved expenses.
Explore the list yourself: The Washington Post turned the original spreadsheet into an online searchable database.
This post is about the relevant “highlights” from the list. Some of the connections to politicians are stronger than others. However, the point isn't so much that certain politicians are unethically profiting - the point is that the American people deserve to know where their money is going. Especially when so many "average" Americans are struggling. In other words, draw your own conclusions from the data.

Connections to Trump & family

A New York shipping business (Foremost Group) owned by the family of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, the wife of the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, received at least $350,000. “Ms. Chao has no formal affiliation or stake in the business, but she and Mr. McConnell have received millions of dollars in gifts from her father, James, who ran the company until 2018.”
Kasowitz Benson Torres, founded and run by Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Marc E. Kasowitz, received a loan for between $5 million and $10 million. Mr. Kasowitz and the firm represented Trump during Mueller’s investigation and for decades before Trump was elected president.
The American Center for Law and Justice, whose chief counsel is Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow, got between $1 million and $2 million. Sekulow also defended Trump during the Mueller investigation and impeachment proceedings.
Jared Kushner connections:
  • Esplanade Livingston, a Kushner family entity that owns the land in Livingston, N.J., where the family’s Westminster Hotel is, got between $350,000 and $1 million. Esplanade Livingston’s company address is the same as that of the Kushner Companies real estate development business.
  • Princeton Forrestal, a real estate entity owned by various members of the Kushner family not including Mr. Kushner, received a loan of between $1 million and $2 million. It is at least 40 percent owned by Kushner family members.
  • The New York Observer, the news website that Kushner ran before entering the White House and is still owned by Kunsher’s brother-in-law’s investment firm, was approved for between $350,000 and $1 million
  • In addition, up to $2 million was approved for the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, a nonprofit religious school in Livingston, N.J., that’s named for Jared Kushner’s grandfather and supported by the family.
In April, a bank approved a loan of between $150,000 and $350,000 for the Pennsylvania dental practice of Albert Hazzouri, who golfs with Trump and frequents Mar-a-Lago. In 2017, Hazzouri used his access to the president to pass him a policy proposal on club stationery on behalf of the American Dental Association. He addressed the note to Trump “Dear King.”
A firm that raises money for Trump’s re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee received a loan of more than $1 million, according to the data set, while a company that produces Trump’s political advertisements received between $350,000 and $1 million.
  • The New York Times does not identify these companies by name. I tried to figure out which companies they were referring to but could not be sure. We already knew that Phunware, a Trump re-election campaign data collector, received $2.85 million — nearly 14 times the PPP average of $206,000 (reported in April).
Billionaire property developer Joe Farrell, a prominent Republican fundraiser, received up to $1 million in taxpayer coronavirus relief funds. Farrell, a developer in New York's exclusive Hamptons beachfront community, has thrown fundraising parties for Trump… Farrell this year rented out his 17,000-square-foot, $40 million East End estate, Sandcastle, for close to $2 million to a wealthy Manhattan family trying to escape the coronavirus for six months.
Dozens of tenants at buildings owned by Trump or managed by his companies received funds… More than 20 businesses listed at 40 Wall Street, an office building that Trump has owned since the mid-1990s, also reportedly received government loans totaling at least $20 million. Among the recipients were law offices, financial service firms and nonprofit organizations.
Sushi Nakazawa, a restaurant at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, received a loan of between $150,000 and $350,000.
Churches connected to President Donald Trump and other organizations linked to current or former Trump evangelical advisers received at least $17.3 million in loans… City of Destiny, the Florida church that Trump’s personal pastor and White House faith adviser Paula White-Cain calls home, got between $150,000 and $350,000. First Baptist Dallas, led by Trump ally and senior pastor Robert Jeffress got between $2 million and $5 million. Other loan recipients included several churches and organizations connected to allies who joined Trump’s evangelical advisory board during his 2016 campaign.
A company with a name matching one listed on the 2017 financial disclosure of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos received at least $6 million.
Perdue Inc., a Bonaire, Georgia-based trucking company founded by Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, received a PPP loan of between $150,000 and $350,000. An Agriculture Department spokesperson said the company is owned indirectly by a trust of which the secretary’s adult children are 99% stakeholders.
American Media, the publisher of the National Enquirer, received a loan in April from Bank of America Corp. of between $2 million and $5 million, records show. American Media is run by Trump’s longtime friend David Pecker. Furthermore, American Media is owned by Chatham Asset Management, a New Jersey-based hedge fund that oversees about $4 billion.
Cottage Hospital, a 25-bed critical access facility in Woodsville, New Hampshire, received between $2 million and $5 million in PPP loans. The hospital’s CEO, Maria Ryan, is a longtime close associate of Rudy Giuliani’s. Ryan currently co-hosts a talk radio show with Giuliani called “Uncovering the Truth.” Cottage Hospital’s annual revenues typically exceed $30 million, according to its most recent publicly available federal tax return. Ryan’s salary, the last filing shows, is nearly $300,000.

Congress and other political connections

Wineries partly owned by Rep. Nunes, R-Calif. Nunes listed on his 2018 public financial disclosure forms roles as a limited partner with investments in Phase 2 Cellars in San Luis Obispo, California, and Alpha Omega Winery in Saint Helena, California. The PPP data shows the wineries received loans of $1 million to $2 million.
KTAK Corp., a Tulsa-based operator of fast food franchises owned by Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Okla.), received between $1 million and $2 million. Hern had advocated increasing the size of loans available to franchisees, including in a March letter to Senate leaders Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.).
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) benefited when three of his car dealerships, located outside of Pittsburgh, received a combined total of between $450,000 and $1.05 million. Kelly is a multimillionaire.
Several plumbing businesses affiliated with Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), all based in Broken Arrow, Okla., each received between $350,000 and $1 million.
Rep. Rick Allen’s (R-Ga.) construction company in Augusta received between $350,000 and $1 million
EDI Associates, a company the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invests in, received between $350,000 and $1 million.
Rep. Nita Lowey’s (D-N.Y.) husband's law firm Lowey Dannenberg P.C. received a loan between $1 million and 2 million. Her husband, Stephen Lowey, is listed as chairman emeritus on the firm's website and is retired from the firm.
Lobbying and policy group Waxman Strategies, which is run by former Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and his son Michael, which received a loan of $350,000 to $1 million.
Before the release of the data Monday, three members of Congress said they or their spouses had received PPP loans: Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas; Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo.; and Rep. Susie Lee, D-Nev.
An affiliate of Americans for Tax Reform, the influential conservative group that has been a vocal critic of government spending, received between $150,000 and $350,000. ATR founder Grover Norquist has criticized the unemployment insurance provision of the CARES Act, which he said “delays recovery,” and signed a letter urging lawmakers not to approve a second stimulus bill.
The Ayn Rand Institute, named for conservative philosopher Ayn Rand, received a loan of between $350,000 and $1 million, which it called “partial restitution for government-inflicted losses."
Citizens Against Government Waste, one of the country’s most prominent anti-government spending organizations and a frequent critic of the CARES Act, took between $150,000 and $350,000 in loans as well.

Other noteworthy recipients

More than 5,600 companies in the fossil fuel industry have taken a minimum of $3bn in coronavirus aid from the US federal government. The businesses include oil and gas drillers and coal mine operators, as well as refiners, pipeline companies, and firms that provide services to the industry.
Yeezy, which California business filings show is a holding company registered to Kanye West, received between $2 million and $5 million to support 106 jobs. West is estimated to be worth $1.3 billion.
Washington lobbying shops, high-priced law firms and special-interest groups also received big loans, according to the administration, the latest indication of how the government’s centerpiece effort to shore up mom-and-pop shops set off a race by organizations far afield from Main Street to secure federal money.
  • Wiley Rein, which has a large lobbying practice focusing on trade issues, received between $5 million and $10 million
  • Van Ness Feldman and Beveridge & Diamond, two law firms that focus on helping energy industry clients push their agendas in Washington, received loans between $2 million and $5 million
More than 100 law firms received loans ranging from $1 million to $10 million, the data showed. The list included well-known names like Boies Schiller Flexner, the high-priced law firm run by David Boies, which received between $5 million and $10 million.
A number of prominent private schools were listed as loan recipients, despite the controversy over whether such institutions should take the money. Some also have political connections in DC.
  • In New York City, St. Ann’s School took a loan valued between $5 million and $10 million.
  • Kent Place School, a private school in New Jersey, was reported to have received a loan worth between $1 million and $2 million.
  • Sidwell Friends, which has educated the children of presidents, received a loan worth between $5 million and $10 million.
  • Georgetown Preparatory School, which the Supreme Court justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch attended, received a loan worth between $2 million and $5 million.

The more you know

Fair distribution? There was no apparent link between the amount of economic damage suffered by states and how successful the small businesses in them were at getting the loans from the program. North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas all saw loan approvals of at least 90 percent of their eligible small-business payroll, even though they rank among the least-affected states in terms of unemployment claims during the crisis.
Just a small fraction of the bailout. Keep in mind that the Paycheck Protection Program is just one part of the government’s bailout. There are other, bigger, bailout efforts that the federal government is not required to tell us about.
Here are some articles about the bigger business and financial sector bailouts:

The Truth About Climate Change. The Rabbit Hole Goes Much Deeper than Fake IPCC Conclusions.....

Source
“The data doesn't matter. We're not basing our recommendations on the data. We're basing them on the climate models.”
“The models are convenient fictions that provide something very useful.”
"It doesn't matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true."
"Unless we announce disasters no one will listen."
"No matter if the science of global warming is all phony... climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world."
Now on to the Club of Rome.
"The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself."
"We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public's imagination... So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts... Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest."
"We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy."
"Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”
"[The Earth Summit will play an important role in] reforming and strengthening the United Nations as the centerpiece of the emerging system of democratic global governance."
"The concept of national sovereignty has been an immutable, indeed sacred, principle of international relations. It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation. It is simply not feasible for sovereignty to be exercised unilaterally by individual nation states, however powerful. The global community must be assured of environmental security."
"I believe it is appropriate to have an 'over-representation' of the facts on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience."
Maurice Strong sits on the board of directors for CCX.
Back before he became U.S. President Obama served on the board of directors for the Joyce Foundation when it gave CCX nearly $1.1 million in two separate grants that were instrumental in developing and launching the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange, which now calls itself “North America’s only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.”
Essentially Obama helped fund the profiteers of the carbon taxation program that he then steered steered through Congress.
"The threat of environmental crisis will be the 'international disaster key' that will unlock the New World Order."
Mikhail Gorbachev, Former President of the Soviet Union, member of the Club of Rome
"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order."
"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
"Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure 'one world', if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."
**Other Club of Rome members include Tony Blair, George Soros Henry Kissinger, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Javier Solana, Kofi Annan, Bill Gates, The Dalai Lama, Hassan bin Talal, Javier Perez de Cuellar, Gro Harlem Bruntland, Robert Muller, Garret Hardin, King Juan Carlos of Spain and his wife Queen Sophia, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Prince Philippe of Belgium and many more people that include wealthy elites, 'new age spiritualists', former or current world political figures and former or current U.N. figures. **

Club of Rome's Depopulation Agenda
"The Earth has cancer and the cancer is Man."
"… the resultant ideal sustainable population is hence more than 500 million but less than one billion.”
"A cancer is an uncontrolled multiplication of cells; the population explosion is an uncontrolled multiplication of people…. We must shift our efforts from the treatment of the symptoms to the cutting out of the cancer. The operation will demand many apparently brutal and heartless decisions."
"I believe that human overpopulation is the fundamental problem on Earth Today”
“We humans have become a disease, the Humanpox.”
“World population needs to be decreased by 50%”
“We must speak more clearly about sexuality, contraception, about abortion, about values that control population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the population by 90% and there aren’t enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage.”
“A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”
In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it is just as bad not to say it.
"If I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels."

Updated list of Global Beermoney opportunities (+180!) - June 2020

Updated list of Global Beermoney opportunities (+180!) - June 2020

Introduction

The current, and now previous, Beermoney Global list started nearly 5 years ago. It’s been updated and has grown over all that time, but it also became a hassle to keep current. It was time to build a new list from scratch based on my experience in the Beermoney world over all these years and all the contributions all of you have been making in this sub.
The lists consist of opportunities that are available in at least one country that is not the US. This means there are sites which only work in Canada or the UK. There’s sites which are open to the whole world, but this does not mean everyone can really earn something on it. It’s all still very demographic and therefore location dependent. This list should give you a starting point to try out and find what works for you. I’m not using everything myself as I prefer to focus on a few, so not all are tested by me. They are found in this sub, other subreddits and other resources where people claim to have success.
I’ve chosen the format of a simple table with the bare minimum of information to keep things clean. It includes a link, how you earn, personal payment proof if available and sign-up bonus codes if applicable. Some of these bonuses are also one-time use codes specifically made for this sub! For the ones I don’t have payment proof (yet) feel free to provide some as a comment or via modmail so others know it’s legit. I am working on detailed instructions for each method that I personally use which will include things like cashout minimum, cashout options, tips & tricks,... For now I’ve split things up based on the type of earning like passive or mobile. Because of this there’s sometimes an overlap as some are both passive and on mobile or both earning crypto and a GPT (Get Paid To) website.
The lists are obviously not complete so I invite you to keep posting new ones in the sub, as a comment to this post, or in modmail. Especially if you have sites or apps which work for one single specific country I can start building a list, just like I did for The Netherlands and Belgium. If you recognize things which are in fact scams or not worth it let me know as well.

For The Netherlands there are a few very good options next to a bunch of ‘spaarprogramma’s. There ‘spaarprogramma’s are all the same where you receive and click a bunch of e-mails, advertisements, banners,... I advise you to create a separate e-mail address or use a good filter in your inbox as you will be spammed to death. I believe they can be a nice piece of beermoney but they take quite the effort.

Replacing AIPAC with CUFI

I want to have a conversation between American Jews and Israelis on the issue of AIPAC vs. CUFI or alternatively Israeli diplomacy focusing on American Jews vs. Evangelicals. To make sure everyone is up to speed since the Kennedy administration AIPAC has been the largest and most powerful (though far from the only) Israel lobby in the United States. Even by its own admission it is having an increasingly tough time maintaining the goals of:
CUFI, wikipedia article is a Christian pro-Israel lobby. It is larger than AIPAC can now slightly out-raise AIPAC (though still nowhere near AIPAC affiliates) on Israel issues. Evangelicals are much more ideologically in line with Netanyahu's policies and coalition.
The INSS (Gantz's organization) report linked below I think is quite good. It talks about the issue of switching focus from American Jews to Evangelicals, what's driving it and why this is a bad idea. I think it summarizes the core of the problem correctly:
The INSS report puts the thoughts of many Israelis clearly , "In recent years, there has been a growing tendency in Israel [particularly among religious-Zionists] to perceive the Evangelical community in the United States (numbering about eighty million people) as a possible alternative base of support to compensate for the rift between Israel and the American Jewish community. Evangelical Christians constitute President Trump’s largest political base, and most of them are also enthusiastic supporters of the State of Israel." The problem that INSS notes is the erosion of Israel's base of support is among liberal progressive populations, Blacks and Hispanics. While Evangelicals can reach out effectively to some Blacks and Hispanics Jews can help there and are very strongly represented among liberal progressive populations.
I'd add to that. Evangelicals like Israel. It is not one of their top concerns. Jews love Israel. It is one of their top concerns. Jews can and have changed their voting, donating, supporting and activism to support Israel. Evangelicals mostly won't care enough. Evangelicals / CUFI provide a huge base of shallow support but cannot replace the deep support of the American Jewish community. Quite simply I do not think CUFI is a viable replacement for AIPAC even though it is more comfortable culturally for Israelis.
Part of the reason I think Israelis have trouble seeing this is the Negation of the Diaspora which is a good and healthy part of Zionism. Israelis perceive Israel as the center of Jewish world with American Judaism existing on the periphery. In reality the USA Jewish community has 6x the wealth / assets of the entire country of Israel, far more economic, cultural and political influence. If you add in British, French, Canadian, Australian... Jews you get a tie with Israel on those fronts. Being the throne in Israel has distracted Israelis from the behind the throne power that the diaspora has been achieving.
I think the INSS report The American Jewish Community and Israel's National Security: A Call for Action is worth reading. For those of you who read Hebrew the 300 page book version is also available. But with this I'd like to open the floor.
Do you think Netanyahu's strategy of shifting the core of the Israeli alliance from organizations like AIPAC or CUFI is good or bad for Israel's long term diplomatic prospects? If you are Israeli is dealing with the growing disagreements with American Jews worth the hassle? If you are American do you agree with me that CUFI cannot effectually replace AIPAC?

White fragility responses to the "East Side is Complicit" post: how to appropriately deal with structural oppression in your region's history

I feel like this warrants its own explainer post. Most people on this subreddit know I'm talking about this post from the other day, where a lot of people felt the need to downvote, upvote, and comment in support of the following thinking:
Here's the problem with all this: it isn't the right way to address systemic and structural biases and oppression. We cannot move past a history we collectively refuse to confront. Does it make you uncomfortable to be generalized, to be held accountable for enjoying the inherited benefits of the slave trade? Good! No growth happens without discomfort. If you want a way to feel more comfortable about it, do something. Write your city and state representatives demanding that all properties derived from the slave trade in RI get a special tax applied to them, or are even taxed at all. Learn about and tell people about the history of it. Make sure it's taught in your local schools, including Brown. Find out from the descendants of slavery what their family history is like - compare it to yours, see how it differs.
If you don't want to do all those things, you aren't actually liberal. If you don't want to do those things, you are actually complicit, even if you're poor, even if your ancestors weren't part of the slave trade. Feeling like you get to shut down this discussion to end the discomfort of it all without having to act on that discomfort is what is known as "white fragility". In order to not have white fragility, you just have to stop centering your own discomfort with all this. And if you aren't white and you still don't like it, own your own history a little more! Teach it to other people who are white or white affiliated. Black people in this country don't have the option of not being generalized. It doesn't matter if black people live in a wealthy neighborhood, make a lot of money, and were never descended from slaves, they're grouped together and treated the same. They have to learn the US history of slavery asap, because that's the life they have to navigate in the skin they have.
It feels strange to have to point to post-Nazi Germany as a beacon of an example, but if you go to Germany today, no Germans would make any of the equivalent assertions about their non-Nazi ancestors, or about their Nazi ancestors, or about stolen Jewish art and gold fillings in their teeth, and they certainly aren't allowed to be ignorant about their role in the Holocaust. They just own it. They remember it, they acknowledge and sometimes even joke about how wrong it was that they did this horrible thing, in a humiliated way. They gave back the art, they allowed the crimes to be prosecuted. They tell its history through entire museums and memorial sites.
Can residents of the East Side (and all of Providence, and RI, really) pull off at least what post-Nazi Germans did? Is it really that hard to own your history and make things right?
