Hi! I currently have 2 GTX 1070 G1s mining Ethereum using claymore's. I don't think claymore's algorithm uses the CPU to mine. Is it possible to simultaneously mine Monero on my CPU on my rig? Are there any serious drawbacks? Thanks!
Monero mining on cpu while mining Ethereum on gpu can you do this?
So i'm not a huge fan as a whole of cryptocurrencies and a lot of speculative markets and personality types it draws in. But i have my personal server cluster running 24/7 anyway so why not see what it can do with these cryptocurrencies. I have a bunch of GPUs I use to render video as well as a bunch of Core / CPUs. While my server / cluster is idle what do i need to do to setup both Monero mining on the CPUS and also Ethereum on the GPUs. I'm trying Claymores right now set up to start when the GPU usage is under 40% load for Ethereum. How would i do this with also Monero ... i'm completely unaware the best options for this.
Sporadic Hashrate and high CPU usage mining Ethereum with 6 -GTX 1070 (claymore 9.5)
I finally got my 6 gpu 1070 rig up and running. For the most part it all seems to be running alright. temps range between 50 and 65 °C depending on the brand of card. The only two problems so far are that while most of the time each card is working between 27 and 29 Mhash/sec, sometime all of the cards drop to 18 or 20, usually for just a very short period. Being so new, this could be normal but I dont know if I should be concerned by this. Anyone else have experience like this? Also, My CPU is running around 80 to 100 % on "system" and "system interupts" Does your CPU run high while mining using claymore 9.5? I installed a simple celeron dual core processor, 3.5 GHz. I am using the MSI z270 SLI board with a 1200W coolermaster PSU. Thanks in advance! Edit: I was wrong...My hashrates have dropped dramatically across pretty much every card. below 10 on each. CPU still in the upper 90s. Any ideas why this may be happening?
[Beginner] I have 250$ AWS credit, is it worth it to mine this to Ethereum? Via CPU or GPU instances?
I have 250$ AWS credit, is it worth it to mine this to Ethereum? Via CPU or GPU instances? Of course a loss would be acceptable because there is no other way for me to get this out of there, any idea how much that could net me?
Been CPU mining for over 4 days, i7-4790K @ 4Ghz, no ethereums - is that typical?
I think I've synchronized, been running geth -rpc, and ethminer to a mining pool (eth1.nanopool.org), and I did exchange some btc for eth so I think my wallet is set up okay. I want to get a rig going, but not if the mining isn't going to work. I did run alethone and it synced or seemed to, and net.listening is true and net.peerCount lists about 25 peers.
Right now I'm mining ethereum, which as far as I understand it is only mining using the GPU. I saw that there is a CPU miner for Zencash, could I run both at once? If not, can I mine Zencash using my laptop? It's a 2.8 i7 with a 950M
Hey guys, Somehow I just can't get my EthMiner to work. I use a pretty slow laptop to mine, not to make profit it's more to look if i can get it to work. A the bottom i added a picture of my command prompts. At the left you see I clearly downloaded the whole blockchain of Ethereum. I am at #1.756.760, which is the most current block at the moment. At the right you can see the command I tried to use in "Ethereum 0.9.41/Release" I first tried using the command "ethminer -G -M" to make a test with my GPU, all the trials gave an output of 0. I then tried to go for the real deal with my GPU with the command "ethminer -G". I got a "CON-RPC problem. Propably couldn't connect. Retrying in 1..". I think this is beacause my GPU is way to bad to mine with, so i thought why not give my CPU a try. I tried to use "Ethminer -M", this once again got a trials with only 0 as output. So somehow my computer just doesn't start mining. After that i tried "Ethminer" but as you can see this also gave me error that the "CON-RPC couldn't connect. http://i.imgur.com/jmfv8r0.png Is someone having an idea how to get mycomputer to start mining? I know I propobly can't GPU mine since my graphic card is kinda shit, but CPU mining should be possible right? Anyway, thanks for all the help guys.
Mining Ethereum, at its heart, requires a computer that contains the same elements as any computer you are already familiar with – a CPU, RAM, storage, Power Supply Unit (PSU), cooling fans. However, to be profitable, you will need a secondary processing location - a GPU or ASIC circuit. The CPU Mining and GPU Mining sections display your current hashrate. Use the dropdown menu in each section to choose the number of CPUs/GPUs you wish to dedicate to mining (assuming you have more The mining algorithm used by Ethereum, Ethash is designed specifically to be ASIC-resistant, in that unlike with Bitcoin, there’s no real advantage in using custom mining devices with specialised chips to mine ETH. This said, it’s unlikely that the average laptop or desktop machine CPU will make you rich any time soon. MinerGate is a cloud mining pool, and one of the more popular options available to Mac users looking to mine Ethereum. Our guide to mining pools explains how mining pools work.. MinerGate boasts over 4 million users worldwide, and with 99.97% uptime, it’s easy to see why. MinerGate has low fees of roughly 1.25% and a low payment threshold. CPU mining is simple in the sense that everything is just a click of a mouse button away. You can manage your software following your personal needs. It is often advised, however, that you should mine only when your computer is idle. Certain Ethereum mining software has inbuilt functions that allow you to set the mining model to “idle” as a
